Men of Samson Society and Women of Sarah Society -
On behalf of our founder, Nate Larkin, and our Board of Directors, it is with great joy I come to you with good news – our societies are healthy and strong.
We’ve made great progress in the last year. Here are just a few of the highlights (2021 in parenthesis):

The future looks bright – by God’s grace, here’s where we’re going in the next three years:- “Any Man – Any Time – Anywhere” We are working toward the day when Samson Society meetings are available 24/7 – rescuing marriages and families by helping men live in the freedom of authenticity worldwide! However, we need online hosts in several critical time zones (all covered by Australia and New Zealand).
- Samson House Training – new educational & promotional resources, Silas training module, Host training resources, promotional handouts for counselors, pastors, and local groups, and even recovery-related books and articles through Samson House Publishing.
- Quarterly Regional and International Events, Regional Retreats, Therapeutic Intensives with top-rated therapists.
- Finally, a retreat in Canada!
- Launch of an all-inclusive mobile app for access to meetings, resources, Slack community, Find-a-brother, Silas check-ins, giving portal, and more.
- Fully functioning and independent Sarah Society, including annual retreats, multiple newcomer meetings, and member resourcing.
Here are a few big ticket items on our dream list – we have the capacity to execute them, we just need the additional funds above and beyond our operating budget: ForteRocca – a retreat center in the Italian Alps. It is currently fully booked and self-sustaining using volunteer staff. Samson House would use it as our Samson International Headquarters and host retreats and therapeutic intensives. Cost: $650,000-$950,000. The Harbor – Samson House currently owns this marvelous property in Mount Pleasant, TN but it needs some serious sprucing up, e.g. refinished floors, new large bathroom, updated kitchen, furniture, etc. Cost: $225,000. Samson House Publishing – established as a profitable, revenue producing for-profit subsidiary of Samson House. Cost: $200.000.

Our 2023 Budget is $378,410.00
(for a breakdown of the budget email: tom@samsonhouse.org). (Note: amounts shared at the Annual Retreat included anticipated giving)
Tuesday, November 29, is GIVING TUESDAY and we have a HUGE OPPORTUNITY – a very generous donor has once again offered to MATCH OUR GIVING in November and December up to $50,000.00!! (current recurring gifts excluded)
But wait, there’s more!
If your company has a matching gift program that triples your gift. And if you’re on FaceBook, check out their matching gift program as well.
WAYS TO GIVE – It is Good to Give … Smart Giving is Great! $12/month to be a Sustaining Member of Samson House A generous one-time gift NOTE: you will receive a receipt from our contributions manager, New Horizons Foundation
Text2give: Text to the phone number 719-722-3545, then enter a dollar amount and SamsonHouse in the text box. You will receive a reply text – simply follow the instructions to set up your text2give account (a one-time effort). You can make a recurring gift or make a simple 10 second gift at the end of each Samson Society meeting – “giving back.”
Tax-advantaged Ways to Give Appreciated securities (no impact on your lifestyle see this CBS article). This way of giving makes the most sense tax-wise. Avoid this year’s tax bite by giving this year’s and next year’s gift to a Donor Advised Fund and then directing the fund to give to Samson House Avoid taxes by giving from your qualified retirement plan (IRA). You can even name Samson House as a percentage beneficiary. Matching Gifts – if your company will match your gift, double the pleasure!
Giving Tuesday has become the answer to the commercialism of Black Friday. Please consider how you can participate by giving to your favorite charity … Samson House!

As this year draws to a close, let us all pause to give thanks for the gracious hand of God on Samson Society. Pray for your brothers and sisters who are in the heat of the battle, and above all remember you are never alone. Jesus said, “I am with you always, to the very end.” As He is with us, let’s be there for one another. Remember what Apollos wrote to the Hebrews, “And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.”
It is an honor to be on this mission with you.
Gratefully yours,
|
