Dear Brothers,
Today, on Thanksgiving, we want to take a moment to express my deep gratitude for each of you in the Samson Society. Your courage, honesty, and willingness to walk this journey of recovery inspire and strengthen our fellowship. You remind us daily of the beauty found in authentic connection and shared hope.
This season invites us to reflect on gratitude—not as a way to ignore our struggles or bypass our pain, but as a source of hope in the midst of it. Recovery often means facing hard truths about ourselves, our past, and our relationships. In those moments, gratitude can become a steadying force, helping us recognize God's presence and the support of this community even when the road feels uncertain.
As you gather this week, whether with family, friends, or in solitude, we encourage you to embrace gratitude as a practice of hope:
Acknowledge the pain: Give yourself permission to feel and name your struggles. Gratitude doesn’t erase pain; it helps light the path forward.
Find the gifts: In the midst of hardship, where can you see glimpses of grace, love, or growth?
Share your thanks: Tell a Silas or brother in your group how they’ve been a blessing to you, reminding both of you of the strength found in fellowship.
Brothers, we are thankful for each of you and the way you show up for yourselves and for one another. Together, we are building a community that reflects God’s love and grace. Let gratitude guide us, not as a mask for our wounds, but as a reminder that healing is possible.
Wishing you a Thanksgiving filled with hope and connection.
